Vivid color and abundant texture

This homeowner wants a variety of colors and textures. The textures need to be mostly flowering. The variety of premium quality plants used ensured a vivid display of color and textures.
These zinnias (left) provided an abundance of flowers all through the summer. The array of colors and textures make this container (right) pop.
The homeowner loves an array of colors and orange is her favorite. This combination of purple and soft orange Crossandra was lovely.
Large sweeps of Shasta daisies provide a backdrop for the brightly flowering pool beds.
We had to be diligent in the maintenance of containers because they were packed full at the installation and we needed to make the containers lasted until late October. The homeowner was thrilled with the outcome of this project. The colors were vibrant, as requested, and many of the flowers lasted until just after Halloween.
Judges' comments on this project:
- The heliotrope and the crossandra together are such a nice combo
- The heliotrope doesn't have powdery mildew on it, so big kudos for that
- Good color choices but the size and the textures look so similar that it kind of runs together
- The shasta daisies throw this whole thing off - you need a white element in those beds and the pots to bring all the pieces of the landscape together
- The salvia looks like it needs to be dead headed or it's bleaching out
- There were other options for that sunny bed space around the pool that would have been more successful
