Governor Kemp's statewide shelter-in-place order is effective at 6 pm, 4/3/20.

The State order recognizes the Dept. of Homeland Security Critical Infrastructure and Essential Business definition, which includes landscape, turf and horticulture industry businesses and suppliers.

This order OVERRIDES all local orders.

It is critical that all businesses follow all CDC/OSHA safe-distancing guidelines and implement strict measures to mitigate exposure and spread of COVID-19 in the workplace.

3/28/20: The Department of Homeland Security has revised their Guidance on the Essential Critical Infrastructure Workforce document to include landscape .
PUBLIC WORKS AND INFRASTRUCTURE SUPPORT SERVICES: Workers such as plumbers, electricians, exterminators, builders, contractors, HVAC Technicians, landscapers, and other service providers who provide services that are necessary to maintaining the safety, sanitation, and essential operation of residences, businesses and buildings such as hospitals, senior living facilities, any temporary construction required to support COVID-19 response.

We have prepared three documents* for you consideration to use in your business operations. Click on the links below to downloadPlease feel free to copy/paste on your company letterhead and modify as necessary. You may want to supply your drivers and employees with the letter, with the business operational guidelines attached to it.

  1. Landscape Service Provider Essential Business Access Letter
  2. Landscape Supplier Essential Business Access Letter
  3. Covid-19 Landscape Business Operational Guidelines

It is critical that all businesses and employees follow the CDC and OSHA guidelines for safe distancing and safety/cleaning/cleanliness outlined in the Business Operational Guidelines (#3).

Please contact us if you have any questions. Thank you and be safe.

*Please note that these documents are not not legally binding, and it is up to each individual business owner to make the decision to continue operating in this critical time. The HSA document is advisory in nature, and it is not a Federal directive. Local jurisdictions have the final authority on defining Essential Business. However, with the explcit inclusion of the word "landscaper" in the definition, and that many jurisdictions cite this document in their individual "Shelter/Stay-at-home" orders, we have prepared these documents.

The Georgia Urban Ag Council is monitoring the rapidly changing impact that the Coronavirus is having on businesses and employees. We will post updates here as we receive them to assist in your day-to-day operations as we collectively face this challenging time.
