Athens-Clarke County is the first mandatory Stay at Home Order in Georgia

To all Georgia landscape industry business owners, vendors, suppliers:
  • Athens-Clarke County is the first mandatory Stay at Home Order in Georgia, effective today.
  • We communicated with Mayor Kelly Girtz (UAC letter to Athens/Clarke) yesterday regarding our industry's services and products, and he has confirmed that the following can continue working, with the instruction to maintain safe distances.
  • Essential Services Businesses - Landscape services and landscape product producers (retail garden centers, landscape supply providers and related vendors)
  • We are emphasizing to public officials and policy makers that the work landscape professionals do supports public health, that they are licensed and trained in proper use of chemicals, and are taking social distancing and cleaning/disinfecting equipment and themselves - so please make sure that your employees are doing so.

We continue to monitor the activities of city and county governments - please contact me if you are aware of proposed orders in your local area. We will post additional orders and other COVID-19 information on our website, and encourage you to follow our Facebook page for updates. @GeorgiaUrbanAgCouncil

Additionally, please support your local businesses as we navigate through this challenging time!

Sincerely,
