Executive Director Message

Georgia’s start to 2026 was anything but typical. Between the mid-month (super-hyped) polar vortex storm and another winter storm at the end of the month, our industry was on alert. As always, UAC members rose to the occasion, providing essential snow and ice removal for both commercial and residential clients. In response to this demand, we are officially adding Snow and Ice Management to our professional service directory on the UAC website, you can now add this specialized service to your offerings, alongside core services like lawn care, pruning, design/build, and chemical applications.

Freezing cold weather didn’t stop attendance at the 2026 Landscape Pro University and Expo on January 28!  This was a record breaker – LPU 2026 brought together over 500 professionals from all sectors of the urban ag industry for a day of intensive growth and connection.  Here’s what the day offered:

  • Comprehensive Education: Five dedicated tracks featuring dozens of sessions, including high-demand Spanish-language education.
  • Professional Growth: Attendees walked away with vital continuing education credits and fresh perspectives on industry challenges.
  • The Expo Floor: A bustling hub where pros discovered the latest innovations and met the vendors driving the industry forward.
  • Lasting Connections: From hiring leads to new collaborations, the networking that happened yesterday will shape the 2026 season.

This event is a testament to what happens when an entire industry converges with a single purpose: to get better. Whether there to find a new supplier, learn a new technique, or reconnect with peers, the energy was undeniable.

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to:

  • Our Attendees: For your passion and commitment to your craft.
  • Our Sponsors & Exhibitors: For your continued investment in the Georgia landscape community.  Thank you to SiteOne Landscape Supply for 8 years of collaboration on this event, and to all of our sponsors, suppliers, speakers and volunteers!
  • Our Expert Speakers: For sharing the knowledge that keeps our industry competitive.

Looking forward, plan to join us on February 24 (Chattahoochee Tech) and March 10 (Gwinnett Tech) for UAC Industry/Student networking dinners.  This is your opportunity to meet horticulture students from these programs, sponsorships are available for both events.  For $150, you can sponsor a table prior to dinner and meet 1:1 with the students, to talk about your company and opportunities for internships and employment. The UAC website has complete information and registration: UAC Industry Events
