The mission of the Georgia Urban Agriculture Council  is to represent the diverse segments of urban agriculture and promote environmental stewardship.  This includes providing leadership in advocacy, education, ethics, and governmental relations.

Georgia is changing.  Our cities are growing, our small towns are developing new industries, retirees are discovering Georgia’s ideal amenities and lifestyles. Consistent and dynamic growth appears to be in the forecast for years to come.

While this growth will bring many benefits, it will almost certainly bring many challenges as we continue to balance growth with protecting the environment and providing a sustainable quality of life for all of Georgia’s citizens.

The Georgia Urban Agriculture Council is a leader in developing the processes and values that will make Georgia an ideal place to live now and in the future. 

We believe:

• There should be ample landscaped green spaces that provide people with recreational opportunities and aesthetics that enhance the quality of their lives.
• That constructed landscape environments should both enhance development and assist natural systems in water recovery, retention, filtration and purification.
• That each industry in Georgia should develop best management practices and environmental standards that support water conservation, water recovery and proper water distribution to all water users.
